All educational leaders in the public and private sectors, from the category of senior leaders and middle leaders.
There are two leadership categories:
1- Senior leadership category includes Branch Manager, Cluster Manager, Cluster Manager Assistant, Senior Principal, School Principal and officers responsible for improving the quality of education.
2- Middle leadership includes Assistant Academic Principal, Head of Academic Affairs Unit, Head of Student Affairs Unit, Head of Services Unit.

The teacher is the main guide of the teaching and learning process as the quality of his/her input elevates the educational process, especially with the new changes and the technological revolution that require teachers to keep up with in order to achieve the desired results in life and economy. The Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence acknowledges this category and requires participant teachers to underscore their distinguished performance, effective leadership, professional development, creativity and innovation in the job, and social responsibility. This category includes all teachers from different cycles and disciplines including teachers of special needs students.

This category targets all employees of support jobs in the public and private sectors; including laboratory specialists, learning resource specialists, special education specialists, academic advisors, social workers, psychologists, nurses, behavior officers, security and safety officers, and secretaries. The Award's administrative board in concerned in shedding the light on the integral role of this category in serving the school and community and providing an opportunity to demonstrate distinction.

This category is the main focus of the award since its launch in its first session, as all grade 3-12 students in UAE public and private, categorized by cycle, are entitled to apply for the award to demonstrate evidence of academic excellence, talents, hobbies, digital competencies, innovation and creativity, and social responsibility.

The UAE provides care for people of determination in all fields and at all levels through empowering and supporting them, especially in the field of education. Since its launch, the Award has been keen to ensure that this category demonstrates their distinction, innovation, abilities , and distinguished participation in social events. This category includes grade 3 to 12 students (people of determination) in public and private schools across all cycles.

The family is the first building block in the society, and the country protects its entity to achieve societal progress and well-being. The Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence has paid attention to this category and called on parents/guardians to participate and provide conclusive evidence of their care for their children and follow-up on their academic achievement as well as strengthening their national identities, enhancing citizenship values, and supporting voluntary community initiatives. The award targets parents of public and private schools' students; who have demonstrated outstanding efforts in raising distinguished children.
